May 5, 2013: Cinco de Mayo.

Yesterday was awesome. It was just a quality day. First, Matt won both his matches at the regional tennis tournament. This qualifies him to compete in the Kentucky State High School Tennis Tournament. Then, we had prom and Matt and Leslie were a wonderful looking couple as were all the Juniors and Seniors of Lawrence County High School. I have looked better but I have never looked that good.

On this date in 1915, Ben Wright was born in London, England. Wright was a radio man and became known for his on-air turn as Sherlock Holmes. In 1967 he provided the voice of wolf in The Jungle Book  and, in 1989, the voice of Grimsby in The Little Mermaid. Get over to Hollywood Studios and enjoy The Voyage of the Little Mermaid.

While we’re watching The Voyage of the Little Mermaid, we should stop a moment to appreciate Pat Carroll, the voice of Ursala. Pat was born on this day in 1927 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Quickies:

1900: “The Billboard” began weekly publication. Visit The American Idol Experience. You might see a future chart topper.

1961: Alan Shepard becomes the first American in space. Go to EPCOT and survive Mission: Space.

It’s Cartoonists’ Day. Just enjoy everything.

Today is World Laughter Day. Go to The Magic Kingdom and enjoy the Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor.

It's Cinco de Mayo. Eat Mexican at EPCOT.

Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
