September 25, 2013: Family Day, One-Hit Wonder Day and Al Hoffman.

Today is Family Day – A Day to Eat Dinner With Your Kids. This is important. A family needs to be able to sit down, eat together, talk about the day, share problems and carry each other’s burdens. At WDW there are literally hundreds of ways to bread, and share, bread. Table service meals, counter service meals, snacks, strolling food, fresh fruit, whatever you want is there and if you don’t know where or how to find it, just ask. Do you have a special dietary need? Just ask. Hungry? Just eat.

Just Eat.

Today is National One-Hit Wonder Day. “M-M-M-My Sharona”, “Come on Eileen”, “The Night Chicago Died” and all those great songs from bands that you never heard from again.  A lot of these bands had long careers, successful careers, without ever hitting the pop charts again. Some of them are ear worms, some are guilty pleasures but they’re all someone’s favorite song. Celebrate your favorites at the All-Star Music Resort.

On this date in 1902, Al Hoffman was born in Minsk, Russia. Al grew up in Seattle, Washington and had a long career as a musician and songwriter. Hoffman had a hand in songs like: “A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes,” “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo,” “Hot Diggity,” “Papa Loves Mambo,” and “Mairzy Doats.” This one is simple take that special lady to the Bibbidi-Bobbidi Boutique at Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs) or in Cinderella Castle in The Magic Kingdom.

Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
