Today is Swap Ideas
Day. Share your ideas with others and listen to others’ ideas. I think this is
crucial to our survival on the planet. Allow me to tell you why. I believe that
every person on the planet has an idea that no one else on the planet
understands or even has any idea about. This idea is so native to the person
who holds it that they don’t realize that everyone else does not have the same
idea. The people who have revolutionized human thought are the ones who have
pondered the state of the world, realized that they understand something that
no one else understands and then shared what they know with all of humanity. It
may not be a big thing but even small, original thoughts can change the world
and if you really do have a big one… wow. Share your ideas, put them out there,
and give them a chance to die or thrive in the big world of ideas. You may be
sitting on the next Mickey Mouse or Theory of Everything.
Bret Iwan was born on
this day in 1982 in California. That was the year that I graduated from The
University of Kentucky (momentary pause while I feel very old). Iwan is the
fourth person to be the official voice of Mickey Mouse. Bret replaced Wayne
Allwine when he passed in 2009. Russi Taylor, the widow of Wayne Allwine and
the voice of Minnie Mouse, helped in the selection of Iwan. The only other
people to voice Mickey were Walt Disney and Jimmy Macdonald. Go to the World
and visit with Mickey, he’s everywhere, and whichever one you are with at the
moment is the real one. Trust me, its Disney magic.
1950: Joe Perry was
born in Boston, Massachusetts. Perry is one of the guitarists with Aerosmith.
You know what to do, ride the Rock ‘N’ Roller Coaster featuring Aerosmith at
Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Take me to the other side.
Remember, your best
excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
