Christmas, Christmas time is here…
We watched Allison and the Kentucky Christian University
Choir perform their annual Christmas show Friday night, yesterday we sang with
Belle’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church at our community sing at Walnut Grove
Free Will Baptist Church and, just an hour later, we watched Matt sing with the
Lawrence County High School Choir at the Louisa – Fort Gay Ministerial
Association’s community sing. Tonight we have our annual Christmas dinner at
Louisa Middle School and Wednesday, December 19th, is our last day
of school before Christmas break. As busy as times are, it is important to slow
down and enjoy the holiday season. Take time, most things can wait.
This is National Hand washing Awareness Week. Take time to
wash up, stay clean and stay healthy. There’s no point in getting sick when
something so simple can keep you relatively healthy. Hey, I’m a schoolteacher,
and we get exposed to everything, so we need any edge we can get. One thing I
appreciate at Walt Disney World is the smell of the soap and shampoo. We
accumulate as much of it as we can and we’ve even bought more at H2O+
on line. There is something about that smell that brings back all sorts of
Disney memories. That’s a perfect excuse to visit Walt Disney World, the smells;
every part of every place at WDW has its unique smell. Make your own olfactory
memories.
Today is National Roof Over Your Head Day, a day to be
thankful for your home, the place where you can relax, let your guard down and
be safe and warm. I think one of the more interesting places for you to visit
at Walt Disney World is the Norway pavilion at EPCOT where you can experience a
roof over your head made of dirt and grass, a sod roof. So don’t be a sod, and
enjoy the sod, and thank God for the roof over your head, whatever that roof
might be.
Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your
dreams to come true.
