Ahhh,
Christmas break. Our Christmas festivities begin Sunday at Belle’s Chapel Free
Will Baptist Church, where we will exchange gifts in Sunday School and sing our
Christmas songs. Then Sunday evening we get to together with my Mom and my
brother, Bob, and his family. Then it just sort of picks up steam from there.
Today, we are just relaxing, trying to recover from this nasty virus and
relaxing. Remember the pledge, take a
day to relax? Try it, you’ll like it.
Today is
Go Caroling Day. The perfect time to wander around your neighborhood and sing
and no one will look at you odd. In fact, the more people you can get to wander
around with you the better. You don’t even have to sing well, just sing and
yell Merry Christmas and move on. If I were able to visit Walt Disney World
today, I would want to experience the Candlelight Processional at EPCOT. What a
wonderful observation of the Christmas season and there’s even a bit of
caroling, although perhaps a bit better than you and your buddies wandering
around the neighborhood (no offense).
On a
more somber moment, in 1971, Roy O. Disney, Walt’s older brother passed away
from a cerebral hemorrhage. If Walt was
the creativity in the business, Roy was the common sense. Roy made sure they
could pay for everything that Walt dreamed up. When Walt died in 1966, it was
Roy who picked up the vision and followed through on the Florida project that
he renamed, Walt Disney World. Roy died about 2 months after WDW opened, his
family went to watch a parade one evening and Roy decided to stay home. Roy
slipped into a coma from which he never arose. Take a minute, go the magic
kingdom and sit a spell with Roy and Minnie in Town Square at the end of Main
Street, USA. Just as Walt and Mickey were partners, so were Walt and Roy.
Remember,
your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
WOW!!!!! WHERE IS MY BABY??????
