December 18, 2012: Castles, Christina and KEEF.

We have wonderful students at LMS, where Learning Means Success and character counts every day. This afternoon I was reminded of just how wonderful our students can be. My wife teaches sixth grade social studies and assigned her students a castle building project. When I went upstairs at the end of the day today, I was stunned by the quantity and quality of the work that her students produced. Since this blog is devoted to excuses for visiting Walt Disney World, take a look at some of these castles and see if they don’t make you want to see Cinderella Castle at the Magic Kingdom. I apologize in advance for not including all the castles but this is a nice sample. Enjoy.

During the holiday season when we build gingerbread houses, what could be more appropriate than a ginger bread castle.

I would feel secure in this castle with working drawbridge.

Think Pink!

This castle should be on the big rock candy mountain, look at all the candy canes and marshmallows.

A fully staffed and secure battlement.

For the ultimate sweet tooth, a castle made entirely of sugar cubes.

More fully staffed quarters.

A castle with a nativity scene on top and the dragon caged beneath.

A most royal purple model.

This is the castle that I want to defend.

A hallway full of castles in a school where the principal is Mr. Castle and the music teacher is Miss Castle.

How about some musical excuses?

In 1980, Christina Maria Aguilera was born in Staten Island, New York. Of course, in addition to her work as a singer and coach on “The Voice,” she was a member of “The All New Mickey Mouse Club.” Go visit Mickey at Town Square in the Magic Kingdom and declare that you too are a member of the club.

There are few legends in the entertainment industry that can rival our own famous mouse but this in one of them, KEEF. Keith Richards, founding member of the Rolling Stones was born in Dartford, Kent, England in 1943. More directly related to our interests is his role as Captain Jack Sparrow’s father in the Pirates of the Caribbean movies. So use Keef as your excuse to be happy and visit the Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom or the new Jack Sparrow experience at Hollywood Studios.

Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
