Shirley Jane Temple, the popular child star who presented Walt Disney with special Oscars for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is born in Santa Monica, California on this date in 1928. As an adult, Shirley Temple Black took part in a 1957 Disneyland dedication served as a U. S. ambassador and later served on the board of directors of some of several companies including The Walt Disney Company.
