April 23, 2013: Single male, President of the United States of America, seeks single female, 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. Ask for James.

On this date in 1791, James Buchanan, the fifteenth United States President, is born in a log cabin at Cove Gap, Pennsylvania. The last president to be born in the eighteenth century, to date he is also the only president from the state of Pennsylvania and the only president to remain a bachelor. Honor Buchanan at The Hall of Presidents at the Magic Kingdom.

Shirley Jane Temple, the popular child star who presented Walt Disney with special Oscars for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, is born in Santa Monica, California on this date in 1928.  As an adult, Shirley Temple Black took part in a 1957 Disneyland dedication served as a U. S. ambassador and later served on the board of directors of some of several companies including The Walt Disney Company. With Snow White’s Scary Adventure now in the past, your best bet to honor Temple is breakfast at Akershus in the Norway Pavilion at EPCOT where you can meet all the princesses.

Quickies:

I am a hillbilly and on this date in 1900 the New York Journal published the first know occurrence of the word “hillbillie.” As a hillbilly, I think a trip down Splash Mountain would be appropriate. Just trust me.

1985: Whatever the reason, Coca-Cola announced it was changing the formula for Coke. You can try to figure it out but no one ever has and no one ever will. Go to Club Cool in EPCOT and try different Coke products from around the world.

Today is Talk Like Shakespeare Day. Go to the England Pavilion and give it your best shot.

Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
