April 17, 2013: Jennifer Garner, is that your real name or just an Alias?

On this date in 1924 Metro Pictures, Goldwyn Pictures and the Louis B. Mayer Company came together to form Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer or MGM. MGM became a huge producer and distributor of films and television programs. Because of their deep catalog of films, MGM teamed with Disney to open a Movie themed park in 1989, Disney-MGM Studios. The relationship between Disney and MGM had morphed over the years and today the park is Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The park still features some of the great MGM movies, particularly in The Great Movie Ride. Honor MGM by visiting the park the company helped to create.

Ron Miller was born on this date in 1933. Ron, a professional football player for the Los Angeles Rams married Diane Disney and, after a stint in the army, worked up the ranks in the Disney Company. Miller eventually became president of Walt Disney Productions and CEO. He was executive producer on TRON and established the Touchstone division for more adult-oriented releases. In honor of Ron, let’s ride TRON, TRON-Track that is. Ride Test Track with Ricky Brigante's specially designed replacement soundtrack. Get it on his Inside The Magic website.

I don’t care that Jennifer Anne Garner was born in Houston, Texas (1972), she’s from Charleston, West Virginia and that makes her a local girl. We always root for local girls. Probably best known for her turn as Sydney Bristow in Alias, we also loved Jennifer in Juno. Married to Ben Affleck, she will always be the girl who graduated from George Washington High School. I worked at Super 102 radio in Charleston for a short stint in 1993 and, like I said, we always root for local girls. Garner also had a Disney connection, starring in The Odd Life of Timothy Green. Let’s honor her with a little spy action, maybe the Agent P activities over at EPCOT.

Awww, he thinks Austin is Perry.
