Today is I Forgot Day. A day to make up for the
events you’ve forgotten and events that you anticipate forgetting. I actually
observed this day all last week at Walt Disney World. I celebrated my birthday
and anniversary at WDW even though my birthday is July 7 and my anniversary is
October 14. It’s okay; if you are at Disney World, celebrate something while
you are there. If your event doesn’t fall during the days you are at Disney
then celebrate while you’re there.
Today is World UFO Day. We mean no harm to your planet. While we were at Disney we saw several things that were flying but, even though some of them were unusual, most of them were identifiable. We saw: flying elephants, flying carpets, many flying humans soaring over California, flying characters on a balloon at Downtown Disney (soon to be Disney Springs) and even flying triceratops at Hester’s and Chester’s. Maybe you should go to the Sci-Fi at Hollywood Studios and investigate the flying phenomenon at Walt Disney World. Also, investigate the menu and atmosphere.
Larry David was born on this day in 1947 in
Brooklyn, New York. David was the co-creator and co-writer of Seinfeld and the core of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Did you know that
Larry David appeared on an episode of Hanna
Montana? Go take in the Backlot Tour at Hollywood Studios and pay tribute
to Larry David by visiting the multi-colored shed from The Hannah Montana Movie in the queue there.
On this date in 1972, Walt Disney World’s If You Had Wings was formally
opened to the public in a dedication ceremony.
This omnimover ride was sponsored by Eastern Airlines and featured
travel to Mexico, Bermuda, Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and New Orleans. When
Eastern’s sponsorship ended in 1987, the ride was known as If You Could Fly
until it closed in 1989. The ride was repurposed as the Delta Dreamflight until
1996 when it became Take Flight until it closed on January 9, 1998. Once again,
the space and ride system was repurposed and today it is… Buzz Lightyear’s
Space Ranger Spin. We love it, you will too.
On this date in 1985,
Ashley Tisdale was born in Monmouth, New Jersey. Let’s do a little Disney role
call for Ashley: Sharpay Evans in all three High
School Musical movies, Candace Flynn in Phineas
and Ferb, Sharpay Evans in Sharpay’s
Fabulous Adventure, Maddie Fitzpatrick on Yay Me! Starring London Tipton, The
Suite Life on Deck, The Suite Life of
Zack and Cody, and Hannah Montana. Do
the Agent P challenge at EPCOT to honor Ashley or any of a dozen other things
at Walt Disney World.
July 2, 1986: Lindsay Lohan was born in New York City. Lindsay was cute.
Lindsay was in The Parent Trap, Freaky
Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Herbie: Fully Loaded. Come
back Lindsay, we miss you. One of the Herbies is still on the Backlot Tour even
though they have removed him in favor of Lightning McQueen in Lights, Motors,
Action.
Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
