This is Barbie Day. When my
daughter was little, she always wanted a Barbie. She never wanted the normal
baby dolls, always a Barbie. When she would go to sleep at night she would fall
asleep while winding Barbie’s long hair around her little fingers. If there
were no Barbies around when it was bedtime then she would wind your hair around
her fingers. This was wonderful for her sleepy time, not so wonderful for our
hair. I don’t know how many Barbies we had but I know it numbered in the
dozens. Barbie figures into Toy Story 2 and
is a major character in Toy Story 3. It
seems that everything that we have ever loved in our lives ends up associated
with Disney at some point. It should come as no surprise that our recommended
activity for the day is Toy Story Midway Mania. Pixar is popular, Toy Story is popular and the ride is
awesome. Don’t forget, if you have the opportunity to get fast passes in
advance, get them for this one, if not, then get to the park early and head
over for them as soon as you get there.
Today is Get Over It Day.
Whatever has been eating at you, a broken heart, disappointment at work, never
making the NFL, get over it. The date, March 9th is exactly half way
between Valentine’s Day and April Fool’s Day, so move on and don’t be anyone’s
fool. Don’t know what to get over? Just ask your friends what they would like
to hear you stop whining about and get over it. Nothing will help you get over
it like a Dole Whip from Walt Disney World. It makes everything all better and
the sugar-induced high won’t hurt things either.
Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
Boy, does this bring back memories. I think I counted about 50 Barbie's at one time. When I was young I loved Barbie's too. I remember having a brunette barbie and a blonde headed barbie.
