Wow,
yesterday we logged our second day of school since Christmas Break. In Lawrence
County, we find creative ways to miss school. Since break we have missed one
day for black ice and two days for burst water mains but we have pretty weather
for the rest of the week and I hope through the 19th. Our academic
team is hosting District 71 Governor’s Cup competition on the 19th
of January. Start praying for good weather now.
Today
is Richard Milhous Nixon’s birthday. Nixon was a frequent visitor to Disneyland
but his visit to Walt Disney World’s Contemporary Resort in 1973 is infamous.
Nixon held a press conference in which he delivered the line, “People have got
to know whether or not their President is a crook. Well, I’m not a crook.”
Hmmm. You probably know where I’m sending you, The Hall of Presidents, where
you can visit all the presidents, crooks and otherwise.
This is National Static Electricity Day. If you’ve been to Orlando, you
probably know that it is the lightning strike capital of America and every
building has multiple lightning rods. To go to Walt Disney World, you probably
have to go through or near Orlando but where can you go in particular to
celebrate Static Electricity Day? Tron Track… Test Track. They’ve added a
dramatic lightning strike to the middle of the ride. To make it even better, go
to Ricky Brigante’s site, inside the magic .com and download his Tron Track mp3
overlay. Start up the overlay when you ride Test Track and, Ta Da, you’re
riding Tron Track. You know you want to, do it.
Remember, your best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come
true.
