School Days
Welcome back kiddies. Lawrence County schools are back in session after
an eleven-day break, breaks are never long enough. It seems that as long as we
are working, I can go from day to day with no problem but, let there be a few
days off, and I don’t want to go back. Talk to me Friday and I’ll let you know
how I feel.
Today is National Buffet Day and, as you probably already know, I don’t
miss a chance to eat. Being hungry is a great excuse to visit Walt Disney World
and, if you are so inclined, there are some wonderful Buffets. The one’s I
mention are by no means an exhaustive list, nor have we visited every buffet at
WDW but here are a few of our favorites:
Chef Mickey’s in the
Contemporary Resort
The Crystal Palace in
the Magic Kingdom
Hollywood and Vine in
Hollywood Studios
The Akershus Breakfast
in the Norway pavilion in EPCOT
I’m sure I’ll think of more later but you get the idea.
Today is also National Science Fiction Day. It is National Science
Fiction Day because it is Isaac Asimov’s birthday. Asimov is a rather prolific
science fiction author but also wrote some serious science books and social
commentaries. Isaac said the following about Walt in an interview with Leonard
Maltin, “The secret of Disney
is doing things you don't need, and doing them well, and realizing that you
needed them all along...Walt Disney was ahead of everyone, always.”
If science fiction is
your excuse for going to Walt Disney World today, then here are a few things
you can take advantage of:
Star Tours at Disney’s Hollywood
Studios
All of Tomorrowland at the Magic
Kingdom
Dinosaur at the Animal Kingdom
Most of Future World at EPCOT
Go forth and enjoy.
Last for today,
Conductor Brittany loves us and we love Conductor Brittany. Even though she is
home at the moment, she will be back soon riding on the trains at the Magic
Kingdom. But she met us today at the Old China Buffet (National Buffet Day, don’t
forget) and gave us a few gifts that I now share with you.

The bane of Brittany's existence
Remember, your best
excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
