Thanksgiving,
in and of itself a wonderful excuse to visit Walt Disney World. In fact, if you
can be at the Magic Kingdom for Thanksgiving, let me suggest that you visit the
Liberty Tree Tavern for a wonderful meal of early American comfort food and a
perfect Thanksgiving feast. Liberty Tree used to be a character meal but, the
best I understand, it no longer features characters. That is no great loss. The
restaurant is crowded, tight fitting, with multiple rooms much like one would
expect from an 18th century New England tavern. The food is great,
all you can eat, served to you at your table. A fine Thanksgiving feast any day
of the year.
Thanksgiving
is a special time for me, a time to reflect on the year gone by, pray for the
future and thank God for his blessings and protection. Enjoy some time with
your family and try your best to look on the up side of life.
1958: Jamie
Lee Curtis was born to Actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. Jamie’s movie
credits are varied and she has a couple of Disney movies among them. Freaky Friday features Jamie Lee
swapping places with her daughter for a view from the other side of life and Beverly Hills Chihuahua has her upstaged
by a group of tiny canines but who among us can compete with a pack of cute
dogs. We saw Beverly Hills Chihuahua on
our Disney Cruise in 2008. Hey, it’s already Thursday, stay another day and
make it a freaky Friday.
Everybody
wants to be a cat. In 1971, Walt Disney Productions released The Aristocrats, its 20th
animated feature in the United Kingdom. So visit the United Kingdom Pavilion at
EPCOT and release the aristocratic cat inside you.
Happy
Thanksgiving.
Remember your
best excuse is always: waiting for your dreams to come true.
